2-stroke oil.

I don't want to start an other topic about who's running with what type of oil but just to make sure....
Did I read it wrong or does Graham Bell says in his book ( page 166 - ...) that he actually prefers mineral oil rather than synthetic oil in road going engines? If this is really the case why do most of us keep running on synthetic then, because let's be honest, most of don't have real race-engines, just fast road engines (scooter-wise speaking )

In my porper YTS days,i used any cheapo mineral oil in my 50,then T5.Never siezed but used to get the rings gummed in.Dont get this with modern semi synthetic.Modern oils just leave less carbon build up so no need to de-coke.

For those that use synthetic in their high performance engines I say fair enough. But the fact is semi is more than adequate for just about all purposes and anyone who says you've got to have synthetic, got to have synthetic all the time is kidding themselves. IMHO.
