Exhaust end/tip missing

Hello,

The end of my exhaust is missing, would this have a negative effect on the performance/fuel efficiency of my GP200. It was like this when I got the scoot so not sure if it is running normal or abnormal. Seems to run fine.
I am thinking of attaching something suitable, as similar as possible in length and cylinder diameter as original - is it worth doing this? Would it be good or bad for performance/fuel efficiency etc??

Attached shows the highlighted in red area is missing.

Cheers

The original Lynx exhaust was like that. Have you got a picture?

It's not a Lynx one. I'd have to say if it was my scoot, I'd at least try a standard 200 exhaust to compare the two. I wouldn't bother trying to fix an end pipe.

Have you asked the person you bought it off about the background to this exhaust?

It's something I've seen a lot of on Maltese scooters for some reason and knowing what they are like over there I'd suspect they think it gives it a boost for no extra money. Because they won't pay money for anything if they can help it. :D Whether it does or not I don't know. I'd suspect not and that it might make a standard engine feel a bit gutless.
