if its got det at midrange then look at midrange settings.. forget the main jet. What atomiser? What timing? What needle etc and what pipe... race rapido is a high port timing thing also so you will need to be pretty good with it to get it as driveable as poss...
I bet you are on a 264 on a 28 or 30mm carb. Try to run the largest atomiser you can. This half throttle is where the bike lives most of the time so it has to be right. 268 is more like it. Let us know the rest of the spec fella.

Mine did exactly the same thing fitted to a Mugello. Pulled like a train but pinked mid-range. I couldn't fix it and neither could the dealer who fitted it even after several dyno sessions and two carbs. Eventually I had to ditch the JL expansion and use a box pipe. That nearly cured it but I still had to richen it to the point where the power was well down. Still goes well but nowhere near what it was with the iffy mid range.

Let us know how you get on, if mine was set up perfectly it would be easily the best scoot I've ever ridden. Masses of torque, fast and not too bad on fuel.
