SR Kit piston replacement
Is there a piston i can get to straight fit into an SR186 kit, i know i could use a suzuki piston by changing con rods, i want to use the SR barrell on an LI150 and dont want the expense of having to change the con rod and possibly the flywheel as well. Thanks in advance

MB Racetour. I did use to have a Deanspeed but found that the barrel needed a rebore after about 3000 miles. I can only presume the rings were too hard for the steel liner
. I've run the Racetour for maybe 6000 plus and no signs of needing a rebore.
IMO, if you spend on an MB piston (they aren't cheap), make sure you get the piston/bore tolerance professionally checked and maybe get the head matched to the piston.

Have you looked on the Scooter Restorations site... a good range of pistons in oversizes to suit the kit exactly
BEEDSPEED 190 PISTON , JUST REBORE AND DONE £ 39.99

This is the cheapest option for me at the moment, how much of a rebore would be needed the beedspeed piston i looked at was 64mm is this not the same as the cylinder dia. would i not be able to do a straight swop.rocho68 wrote:BEEDSPEED 190 PISTON , JUST REBORE AND DONE £ 39.99

http://beedspeed.com/product_info.php?c ... ts_id=6596 That should fit straight in, it's 64mm and your barrel should be 64mm. Check clearances and ring clearances before assembling. The ebay one mentioned above should fit straight in too.des wrote:This is the cheapest option for me at the moment, how much of a rebore would be needed the beedspeed piston i looked at was 64mm is this not the same as the cylinder dia. would i not be able to do a straight swop.rocho68 wrote:BEEDSPEED 190 PISTON , JUST REBORE AND DONE £ 39.99

if you're not reboring/ honing, don't forget to "glazebust" the barrel so the new rings can bed in
