fuuny head or is it

took ally head of stage 4 200 noticed no squish band behind plug hole,head gasket 1.5mm is this to compensate,as anybody else noticed this

Here you go.
At TDC piston edge is approx 1mm below top of cylinder, head gasket is 1.5 mm, and cylinder head is shown in pics....

A lot of AF heads are like this.

Remove base gasket or remove head gasket/fit thinner gasket until you get the required squish.

1st thanks dan for the phone call /pictures.
2nd thanks Bufficus for reply.
base gasket very thin,head gasket that what was on the engine 1.5m,head its self as 2mm lip on ,and piston 1mm from top of bore, that say`s 4.5mm squish. now iv`e seen the gent who restores vintage bikes,he said that he would have a look and skim the head if need be

I would always measure the squish in situ before you starting skimming the head

you dont need to run with head gaskets btw

took head gasket off checked squish 1.0 i`m going to fit a thinner gasket to get squish to about 1.2mm/1.3mm then i`ll be :D
