anybody running a rear hyd disc brake with rearsets. the problem i have is position of the of the pedal it doesnt sit in a naturel position to your foot because of exhaust and kickstart so when i brake i have to lift my foot off the peg to push the pedel down. my plan is to move it all to the other side (flywheel side) where theres nothing in the way has anybody else done this :?

Hi Martin,

I had exactly the same issue on my GP so moved the rearset to the flywheel side and now it works a treat. It takes a bit of getting used to, braking with the left foot, but other than that it's fine. Sorry the only photo that I can lay my hands on at the moment doesn't show it particularly well because the fot peg was folded up at the time when I took the picture but it give you an idea....

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Martin,

The brake is mounted to the frame strut. I don't know if you remember or not but we met a few years ago in the car park of the Peanut Duck custom show when you were wheeling your purple cut down out at the end of the show, you let me have a sit on it and at the time I commented that your rearset brake suffered from the same problem I had encountered on my GP (I couldn't compfortably get enough levarage on the pedal before the lever hit the exhaust pipe) and I mentioned that I had moved my pedal to the left hand side to solve the problem.

Thanks for the kind comments about my GP, it's been off the road for a couple years but I'm planning to rebuild the engine this winter and hopefully be out and about on her again in the new year.

All the best,

Matt
