Brake Pedal Circlip Not Holding

Having a b@5t@rd of a time trying to keep the circlip on the brake pedal mount.
It's clean, the groove is also cleaned out, but the circlip just won't hold when you press the pedal more than a few times.
It feels neat enough when the circlip is in, but I wonder if the mount is just worn. I've used different circlips that I've got with the same result.
Is there another option?

If the bush in the pedal is worn out then when you press the pedal, it skews over and pushes the circlip out. I'd check that before I go any further if I were you

f@@king hell.
I don't know what I'm going to do. I certainly don't want to take the leggies & everytrhing off to drill the mount.

If the pin is not too worn a gear shaft bush in the pedal can help as the nylon ones wear quickly or are a loose fit new.I shim the pedal both sides as well as it seems to stop the pedal twisting. As for drilling you should be able to get in with a small battery or air drill without removing the legshields.Use a ratchet tap holder.

Smash it with a hammer and super glue then.....................
No..Im certain you will have to lift leggys Bilko, even if you get a long reach drill bit you still need the turn room for to tap it fella...

I've done it without removing the legshields, using a tap holder with a sliding rod handle...
