Hi all, just tried my hand at porting my px200 casings....

Wanted to show the pics and get some feedback, suggestions on what i'm doing.
Sorry I had to put a link to the images as I can't see how you add them.
http://www.dopeshots.com/px200/

I have a very limited budget so I have been hunting ebay to build up my engine.
The plan is to try and get 17bhp out of the engine for less than £300.

My engine spec will be:
Polini 207cc kit (twin ring type) - bought off eBay for £63.27
Std Carb
Std Crank
Ported Casings
Taffspeed Pipe - bought off eBay for £57.94
T5 4th Gear - bought off eBay for £25.60

Total so far = £146.81

I'm not an engine builder just an enthusiast of 2 strokes that thinks "how hard can it be" ;o))
I'll post more as I get news.

Looks like a lot of swarf, around the bearing make sure you wash it all out thoroughly. Looks good otherwise. :D

For the cost of new bearing and seals I'd replace them as its a pain to split the case apart after.

I'd forget about using the T5 gear as the polini will pull standard P200 gears easily

Have a look at your barrel if it looks untouched then you can widen the exhaust port but I wouldn't raise it. There was a story in Scootering about tweaking a polini

Polini instruction say to remove 15mm off the crank web, best to get it split and do the job properly!

I'd go for and inlet timing of 175 degrees, tidy up the inlet on the case as factory machining is pretty poor but DON'T widen it as the crank web wont seal it.

Match the air box to the diameter of the carb and the top of the inlet of the casings and smooth out the tract

Drill out the heart on the air filter

Change of do away with the fuel banjo filter and check the needle valve in the carb

Most of the above cost nothing but your time and all add tiny amounts to performance. Hope this helps you

Just thought I'd post an update as its been a while.

So my original plan was to budget £300 to build the engine but I am over £450 to date! I have also changed my engine spec to the following:

Malossi 210 Kit - bought off eBay for £43.00
P200E cases - £81.56 off eBay which have now been ported for a reedvalve kit and matched for the malossi kit.
Reedvalve kit - eBay £48.26
28mm Delortob Carb - eBay - £27.00
Beedspeed lightened Flywheel - eBay £32.14
Race crank - eBay £9.00
Gearbox & xmas tree - second hand on this forum - £25.00
Clutch - second hand - eBay £ 11.00
Tafspeed Pipe - bought off eBay for £57.94
New Piston Kit for the Malossi 210 - Beedspeed - £88.00
New Bearing & Oil seal kit - eBay - £58.00

Total so far = £470.90

I have now built the engine up and should be getting it running this weekend. Once its in the scooter I'll get it dyno'd and post the results.

happy scootering :fb:

If youve bought all that from E bay and it all works without any major problems im going to be asking you to do my lottery numbers!!

Best of luck as i guess new it would have cost 4-5 times more at least.

Here are some pictures of the build. If I can work out how to upload video I can show it when I first fired it up.

Next is to fit it in a scooter and do a bit of running in before the dyno.

Cheers

I'm sorry if I have offended you..... I was under the impression that to post images on this forum I had to post them on the lambretta image archive, being new to this forum stuff I thought I was doing the right thing.

So I am sorry but I wasn't taking the P155 as you put it.
