Main scooter: SX 150 running in

rebuilding my SX150 engine over the winter, and I need to get some bits together, but I want to sort out the top end first, is the a certain type of 150 piston that offers good reliability over others. the bore is 57.4mm and still in good nick I can get it made bigger if needed, but dont really want to fit a piston much bigger than 58mm. Is the a japanese piston available instead thats better than a lambretta one and what else would need doing, and how much?
want to keep it cast iron barrel, dont want an ally kit.

Consider a Mahle piston from Scooter Restorations:-

http://www.scooterrestorations.com/lamb ... -assembly/

I'd go for a rebore so consider a 57.6 or 57.8 and give the piston to a reputable engineer for a rebore to suit ( I use a guy in Bristol)

Piston is £30 and a rebore around £25.
