standard front disc on a TV175 S3.
Just had its MOT, and the tester told me the front brake was "just within spec"
Recommended that I look for some "abrasive EBC" pads if possible. Anyone know if there is such a thing, or any ideas as to how to improve a standard set up- don't want to go hydraulic.
Any suggestions Gents?
Chris

Try EBC FA 100 pads
http://www.ebcbrakesdirect.com/bike/par ... 9&sec=Euro Seem to work fine although won't pull a stoppie with a cable set up

Don't worry about the wrong pic on the site

Just fitted Newfren sintered pads(bought from Glasgow Lambretta) to my remade inboard disc brake.Much, much better than the un-named brand previously fitted

Need better brakes on mine thinking of losing the standard look disc and fitting an outboard instead, nearly hit a car in the outside lane on the M62 going to the euro hadto cut back into the inside lane to avoid a crash brakes not good enough at speed, still on a standard cable not even reverse pulled.
Never seem to get time to do my own scooters.

Fitted a set of these a couple of years ago, very effective but only had to touch the lever and as mentioned they squealed, is there a cure for this?

No grey with metal dust impregnated, black lacquered. had to grind them down a few thou on outside edge to fit properly....don't squeal.. put copper slip on backs to prevent that
