Hi
Just fitted the drive side bearing, it went in very easy, too easy, there is an up and down movement, you can't push it out but it does move. There is no obvious damage to the casing. I tried the old bearing and that is the same, is the casing knackered or is there a solution to this. Its off a jet 200 if that makes a difference

If there is movement of the outer bearing face when its in situ then that really isn't good. If when you recheck there isn't you could try fitting it with 638 loctite.
Funnily enough was just having a drink with the guys who make our tanks and also another guy that works for a rapid prototyping firm. One of the things we were discussing was repairing bearing housings on otherwise good casings.
Get in touch if your still having problems and you want to save the casings. With Indian ones rising in price it suddenly becomes financial sense to save older stuff.
