fitting the 12v kit to my Indian GP, I cannot get the lines in the stator to match the lines on the flywheel. I fitted the stator in the middle and the bike will run. According to stickys book i should check the timing, he mentions an a c stobe, i've had a look on ebuy there's loads but which is the right type to get? Don't wanna spend loads. Also if the scooter runs withs the stator in its middle position with the lines WAY out will this cause any issues? PS got the kit fom a well known supplier.

The lines on flywheels and stators and cases are works of fiction - always worth checking the timing with a strobe and marking the mag flange yourself so you know it's right.
In my experience the strobes that work best are the cheapest ones that don't need a battery and just attach inline with the HT lead between the plug and cap.

Cheers Buchers, i'll try to find one,the ones on eby all seem to be the type powered by a 12 v battery.

Not used mine yet but it was about £18 off ebay. Draper no. 52616. I was advised by others that this was the one to buy. I think it can be run from a 12V battery charger too.

I've got this one too. I got it from Amazon. It didn't work off a battery charger though, or at least mine didn't, but it works really well from a battery.

Thanks again blokes (cheers for the offer Buchers) Seen the Draper on amazon for £16, i'll give it a go, although Stickys 1st book says DC powered strobes 'can give false readings'.........will let you know
