Firstly i needed to find a motorcrosser or racer with a 58-60 mm crank , this was so not to bite off more than i could chew later !!! after a few no hopes ,a chance meeting with a mate whom still had an 80s "mig1" pm tuned lambretta got me pointed in the right direction as he told me that the air cooled barrel was a kdx 200 and that the stroke was 58mm !!!! straight off to ebay and three barrels later ive got everything i need . ......................... :bouncyeng:
After looking at what was involved and being frightened at the amount of welding that needed to be done just to get it to fit made me think of another way ....................... machine a billet base plate with spigot transfers etc and weld that straight on the casing , although this has been done before the way i wanted it was that it was all machined so even the guy with basic knowledge could get one done , hours and hours later drawings were done and it was then off to see my mate and his cnc miller ........

Might be an idea to weld some more bracing between mag and drive bearing on the outside of the casing, to prevent flexing of the engine casing, 40 bhp will exert some pressure onto the crank bearings mag and drive. Any movement here will Massively reduce the reliability of the engine. The thin casting is originally meant for a mere 12 bhp.
This is definately one to watch. ....

your gonna find it tight between frame and reed block/manifold
one way round it is to plug the standard inlet ,create an extra port and go crankcase induction

is the spiggot part under size at the moment? and are you going to make some kind of jig to ensure the new billet peice is in the right position?
