Box pipes + reed valves

Does anyon run the combination of the new Ancilotti box pipe with a reed valve cylinder (Imola/TS1/monza), apart from the obvious drop in top performance of an expansion does the balance of extra low end torque vs top revs effectively work?
Basically i have finished the rebuild after being cleared up by a mobile phone users and have been more 'sympathetic' with finish, i have a Monza 230 (23bhp) which ran a stainless Andy Francis JL3, and i am looking to return to a more standard appearance, i have replaced the exhaust as it was badly damaged so if this route is taken i will have a new and packaged Franspeed to sell!! (the polished one)
The engine runs 18x47 gearing.
Any help oe feedback appreciated
Cheers

What about a B Race Stealth, fits like a dream and is totally unobstrusive, good power and torque

I think there was a thread about this a while ago. Don't the 'box' type exhausts merely lower power, rather than improve torque?
I run a R/C clubman on my GT. It's fine.

jain mcgarty (LCGB registrar) runs a TS200 with a clubman, and an AMAL on her silver special, and that seems to get her everywhere she wants to go.

A mate in our club ran an AF 48mm bigbore on his TS and his comment was "dont bother" but then that maybe wasnt the best to use, there is the Ron Moss pipe now and I remember someone saying on the LCGB forum he used one of Ralphs 42mm bigbores on his TS and it was great.

Box exhausts vary greatly in the quality of build. Just looking down the inlet cone where the u-pipe fits, with some good light shining in, usually shows the padding sticking up covering the flow into the box section.
Ralphs will be of the best build quality, and no doudt Rons will also be top notch.
But bolting an AF big bore or most other off the shelf box pipes, will normally leave alot to luck, most likely bad luck where performance is concerned for a TS1. But you can get a good one by pure chance.
If you know anyone with some fabrication skills and a welder then why not make your own to suit your engine, this way when it's apart you can check the fit of the internal parts and also make any modifications you might need and have a good gas flow with stronger return pulses.
Then when it's welded back up and a new TS1 exhaust flange fitted, if you have used your motor as a jig for the box exhaust and U-pipe then you know it will fit, which is not always the case with off the shelf pipes.

I put a twin pipe AF big bore on my Goodwood low line special a couple of months back. It was a GT193 (64 bore x 60 stroke) with a 30mm VHSH carb.
I thought the carb would be totally smothered by the exhaust, boy was I wrong! It was the fastest most torquey GT kit with a big bore that I've ridden (and that is quite a few).
I had originally thought that this carb exhaust combination would not be viable but it really re-aligned my preception as Tyler Durden said. That scoot was sold to a guy in Brighton area so if you know it, I'd be interested to see it on the dyno as I never got the chance.
That said, I think the performance of reed valve kits in conjunction with big bore pipes depends quite sigificantly on the kits port timings. Kits with higher timings like..well pretty much all of them with the exception of GT's will probably not benefit as much.
Either way, you're on a 200 casing so you are pretty much stuck with the higher durations 130's, 180's which are aimed more at expansion pipe compatibility.
