I have just fitted a new Bgm 80w stator and the ignition side works fine however the lights on tickover are all most non existant, (which has caused an MOT failure) on checking the voltage from the yellow wire from the stator to the regulator it reads only 3-4 volts!! I fitted another known good regulator just to be sure but still the same, I removed the stator and checked it with a multimeter as per stickys manual (white wire to red reads 111.7 ohms, white to green 0.505k ohms) all good but the manual mentions no check for the yellow wire which in my case the reading between the yellow and the white wire reads 0.007 ohms, I am not sure if this is the right check for the lighting circuit, can someone point me in the right direction

PS. I would normaly send the stator straight back to the supplying dealer, however I need the bike Mot'ed ASAP as it's needed for a touring holiday and I am told bgm stators are out of stock just about everywhere at the moment, so a quick fix would be good if possible.

The lighting coils do have a very low resistance, my ancient SIL spare reads 2.5 ohms, 0.7 seems very low :? If you havn't already tried it, fit an LED rear lamp, that will help the head lamp a lot or as suggested, buy a SIL one (Scooter Restorations) and get your money back on the BGM.

I would like to thank Philipp and Scooter Centre Koln for contacting me and then sending me a replacement 120W Stator, even though I bought the stator from a UK Dealer, Service second to none!!! also like to thank Mb Developments for their behind the scenes input and getting me back on the road so quickly ;)

Cheers Skidmark
