Due to paranoia re' mb piston, has anyone machined a con rod small end eye to use 18mm pin?Rather than using ape rod
To enable suzuki piston use.

I would not machine-out the small end to 18mm, but Harry Barlow had some 116mm rods with 18mm small ends. The holy grail of con rods, said Harry.

The WCLW Humiliator / Annihilator conrod is 116mm / 18 mm. Yamaha boat engine conrod sourced by Vince Mross. Lambrettaworks sells the Wiseco "HotRods" American made item.

Here are some part numbers for you
Yamaha outboard motor con rods.
these engines are triple cylinders making 30-40bhp
648-11651-00 110mm long 29mm big end (to take 22mm crank pin) 22mm little end (to take 18mm) both ends 18mm wide

6h4-11651-00 116mm long 29mm big end 22mm little end both ends 18mm wide

easiest to have big end width machined down to 15mm to fit in the standard webs or have the webs machined to take the 18mm rod width.

Hope you can understand that, havent written it up very well sorry. Dave
