TS1 fuel

is it worth using super unleaded in a ts1?
i only use normal unleaded in my mallossi vespa with no troubles.

Surely that would depend on how high you've set your compression.

it is a standard 200 kit with 1.5mm squish.

i use super unleaded on my ts1 225 and my 172 malossi vespa on the vespa i have a pm head and they recommended super unleaded as do af rayspeed with the ts 1

Set your bike up on standard pump fuel with a sensible comp head and you shouldn't have a problem. Various reports now suggest high octane fuels can be detrimental to 40 year old 2 strokes due to additives etc designed for modern cars. Also, at many rallies, off the beaten track, it is often difficult to find high octane. I run my TS1, RB and Dragster on the local ASDA brew with SIP oil. You don't want a fussy engine. ;)

My TS1 is set up to run super unleaded, but it wouldn't kill it to run regular unleaded. It's been shown on a dyno that Tesco super unleaded gives the best power :shock:

cheers lads, i'll set it up on normal unleaded, its true what you say when your in the arse end of nowhere you struggle too find super unleaded.

But if you need a dyno to show that then it aint worth paying the extra.
