help please i am drybuilding my new project before paint, got engine sat in position, thought i'll stick carb on for panel clearance etc noticed that the fuel inlet brass bit on carb is touching engine mount and lower alley casing on carb wich holds overflow pipe i think (between both alley bit and fuel pipe inlet) it looks like it will come off it's on a mbd manifold.there is about 5mm clearance between carb body and engine mount. is this normal??
Iv'e gott a 34mm dellorto on my other ts1 with about 1/2 inch clearance.
regards confused :bouncing:

i have cut away the bracket on the float bowl, too - but i don´t have any problems with the fuel inlet brass and the engine mount.
perhaps try another manifold? i use the shorter LTH one.

something strange there should be loads of room between brass fuel pipe piece and engine mount

Same problem with RB20 and tmx35. Cutting away the bracket on the float bowl I think that you can rotate the carb to have more clearance.

my thought exactly never noticed it before had the engine a while and carb never fitted
so maybe time for a bodge offcentre bolt holes to see if it will swivel or
cut - gouge out engine mount

I had the same problem, I used off set engine mount cones at the 2 + 10 o clock positions (facing forward

), although I had to cut into runner board a little to allow for the carb main jet access bolt during suspension travel.
