Casa 185 woes, what happened.

A mates casa 185 I fitted 18mths ago done approx 5k miles, always run well and reliably and then this happened completely out of the blue.

Bit of a mess, I expect Langcourts could repair the cylinder, but I`ve heard pistons are
hard to get, who would have them?

According to 'Scootering' replacement pistons are available from Casa dealers (Which is more than can be said for the 210 kit) :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

Air leak or fuel starvation most likely - white exhaust port and melted piston suggests waaaaaaaaaaay to lean for one of those reasons.

Has the head been blowing - dirty marks on the barrel look like it might have been and maybe sucking in air?

Originally they didn't have any over sized pistons. Yes, it's hard to believe!

one went over here, head came loose. Don't think it was that hard to get a replacement piston..
