Has anyone got any home garage methods of bending back the front fork stem of the frame. I guess I could and get some sort of hyraulic device but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would think that due to the geometry, the fork stem would require proper jigging otherwise your handling will be all over the place.

seriously not worth the effort at home ...just send it to mike phoenix and get it done properly.

were in the uk are you i know someone with a jig he does forks as well doesnt he mike

My cousin had some forks done buy Mike and they were back and forth for months. Infact the first time he got them back they had just been painted. I guess he was just unlucky. I thought somebody else straightened frames something engineering?

i ment mike maxwell (soulsurfer) not john wayne in manchester i also know someone who had a fram and rear struts done there at a cost of over £250 then primed and dry built one rear strut was so high the floorboards touched the panels even when adjusted to the max i cut the left side floorboard rest off welded the holes on the old one and the new one and we sorted it .........then came the fuel tank fitting probs

After crashing my Li last year I've been working on a home-brew scheme for this problem for ages. Forks were bent back beyond repair but the frame was out by about 7mm at the bottom of the head tube. Enough to make the lower bearings sit off flat. (if you know what I mean)

I bought some thick steel rod from eBay which I hoped to chill and then insert into the bottom of the head tube. After that I was going to try and build a hydrualic press to push it back out using a bottle jack. The trouble is the steel rod turned up but was not the size I asked for, it is loose up inside the lower headset tube. The project is on hold until I can get the right materials.

Further problems would be building a frame round the bottle jack, strong enough to hold it all. How do these guys with the frame jigs do it?
