Always felt they strangle performance so i threw mine in a lake. There are some who say you will wear a barrel out in no time but have never experienced any problems. You run like f@@k down the road with a sock shoved in ya mouth and beleive me you will have trouble breathing.Cut a hole in the panel aswell to make breath even better, thats breathing sweet.

Early Mugello 186s ran awful with filters IME. Especially if you messed with the exhaust and inlet timing. ;)

Filters look gay. However, the top ring peg of my Racetour piston wore away to 0.5 mm and spun the ring after 3K miles. I'm wondering; crap fuel, road grit or poor engineering? I'm not sure, I'm still waiting for Mark to get back to me. But I know I'm not alone. Spooky.

I had a 186 MK1 Mugello with a little home grown porting, 30 PHBH, and ScootRS expansion and it was really quick. Bought a ramair from MB and it was just as good as open carb. You couldn't tell it was there. Fitted it on a Monza 225 and you had to downjet by 2 so it was affecting it slightly.

Run a ram air on my ts and does not affect jetting at all (or HP), as verified on diablo's dyno.

in my personal view, filters run fine with reed valves,ie ts1,s and rb,s,but struggle with the amount of induction on piston port motors and larger carbs
