finally got round to cleaning and jetting up the SH2/22 Carb that I got hold of (Main: 118 starter: 50 pilot: 45) for my LI150 S3 and Clubman today.

Put the Carb on, kicked her off second kick and then ran her around the block a few times before filling her up with petrol. Ran well and pulled excellently and returned home with a warm engine to set up tickover.

All of a sudden scooter wouldnt tick over and kept cutting out. Wound tickover screw right in and tried again but still struggling to tickover. Adjustment of the tickover screw made no difference.

Finally tried with choke on and seemed to tickover like screw fully wound in.

Any ideas?

I'm far from being an expert but sounds like a classic sign of either main jet or pilot/idle jet blocked or obstructed in some way. Remove carb/float bowl remove main and pilot jets, blow through preferably with air line. clean out float bowl with lint free cloth and reassemble. Should now be O.K.
I had a similar problem yesterday and found tiny pieces of what looked like soft varnish in the float bowl and in the jets.
Although not recommended, you can use a single strand of multi-strand electrical cable to poke through the jets without too much danger of damaging anything.
Also ensure all connections and fixings on the carb and manifold are really tight.

Hope that helps.
NO IT'S NOT A F***IN* MOPED!!!!!!
