just stripped my ts1 225.
it was not reving out and lacked top end speed. found the rings had a 1.2 mm gap with plenty of signs of blow past.
took the reed block out to check reeds and moticed that there is no 5mm packer this leaves the piston close to the stops.

how much is this effecting proformance?

i`ve got one with a packer and one without - both same set up (standard reed block/exhaust/gearing/carb) cant say there is any noticable difference

i only put a packer in to see if it would make any difference

You need a packer with yam reed blocks but with standard you don't.

i filed a couple of mm off the stops nearest to the piston.
it looked like it would be a struggle for the gasses to get to the boost port.
fingers crossed.
