i have a MOT tomorrow morning and my scoot is giving me problems, I constantly have to clean the carb. It works perfect directly after but the next day the scoot have fuel starvations again and the carb is clogged up.

I used a in line fuel filter with no success.

Is there a way to clean the tank without removing from the frame? I wont have the time for any extensive tank fiddling before MOT tomography morning. I just need to stop the mass of stuff flowing into the filter and carb.

Drain tank completely into suitable container ( a big glass jar is best as you can see if there is any debris in the petrol) using a stocking or pair of tights to act as a filter, remove petrol tap. refill with the petrol using your finger to bung the hole for tap and shake scooter to agitate any crap in bottom of tank. Continue to do this until all crap is removed, move the filter material (stocking) so that fresh material is being used every time you drain the tank, less chance of crap passing through the material back into the petrol. Refill your tank when sure its clean using new petrol. Not ideal, I know but it'll get a lot of the crap out and hopefully allow your MOT to take place. Then clean out properly when time allows.

Paper coffee filters work very well as filters in this sort of use.
