Mate had problems on the RR2 with his scoot. Could start it but not rev it up. TS1. Signs were lots of spit back through the carb even though it has reeds. Turns out that two of the very small screws holding one of the reeds in had worked loose. One embedded itself in the cylinder head, and luckily the other fell out of one of the transfers when I took it out in the sunlight to check for scoring/damage to the cylinder. New screws were then loctited in and the other two removed and re-inserted with loctite. Scoot started up and was fine after. Could have been a very costly experience or even dangerous if it had happened at speed. So if you are doing a strip down on a scoot with a reed valve, its worth loctiting these little feckers in.
