Is there such a thing or has there ever been a sprung ancelotti seat (or similar). I have a cheap copy and after the last rally swore that i would never do any distance on it again.... After looking at quite a few Ancelotti designs it seems that none of them are sprung although i did come across one that was similar at Rimmini Scooter Centre but that was £400...

That's it. It's the lack of suspension in them that transmits all the vibration and makes them uncomfortable I reckon. Never heard of a sprung ancillotti, but if someone did one I'd have one like a shot. Best you'll get is the GP Electronic seat. I love mine.

...ancillotti best seat! use your springs in your legs to ride the bumps!!!

You could try taking the cover off, ditching the foam and putting in a gel pad.

This is on my ever increasing list of things to do and I also buy one tomorrow.

Got to say that the one thing that i really really dont like is the state of my arris after any long distance but i cant bring myself to put a standard sprung seat on my scoot. i forget about it you see when im doing my normal commute or nipping about, but after 60 or so miles its starts to be a real pain in the arse...ses what i did there...have thought about the gel pad idea and even cutting the base out and re-welding it in lower so it takes more foam but have to agree with earlier poster its the springs that really make the difference. I know they wouldnt be as long as the ones in a standard seat but they would still make a big differnce im guessing.

I would pay up to £300 for the right looking seat that was sprung and im guessing there would be a fair few who would do likewise....and im a tight git...

thing is, i quite like a hard seat. my P200 disc seat (an early one) is hard, but ive done 1000"s of miles on it, and the lammy has a low ancilloti on it , and the feel of the scooter when riding is better. i even like snettys to ride on. a squishy soft seat just makes me feel sick . much prefer a harder number (ooh err missus!) one of the best ive ever had on a lammy was an indian "bus length " GP seat. firm, comfy, twenty quid, but ugly!.

have to agree with goldeneye had an indian bench seat on my pushpack with locking mechanism was THE most comfy seat ever till some theiveing scumbag stole and wrecked the bike (now refered to as the allwyn flatpack)

no, wasnt sprung. it was just like a PX EFL seat. big square thing, foam base, mine was plastic based if i remember rightly, overhung the back grille by a bit. got it from SR ages ago (1999?) no one wanted them , and they were 20 quid . but i was skint, my sprung seat had collapsed, and it was the cheapest option. and turned out to be the comfiest. i repaired the sprung one , and put it back on when i sold it (the seat was black and white stripes as well, a definate no no living in sunderland at the time!) dunno what happened to the injun one. might hunt another.
