GT Kit Carb Problem

Gt Kit with 25mm Delly, 97 main for running in, 60 choke and 50 pilot, running airbox with internal tube removed and RS Clubman. Once warmed up a bit and the choke is off, it seems to bog down when trying to accelerate, however if I pull the choke on it will run pull it until I slow down to stop and it stalls. I have to then take the choke off to start it again. I also tried this without the airhose connected with no difference. Changed the pilot from 55 to 50 which made no difference.
Any suggestions?

Put the std air box back on cus its too weak on that jetting. I tried this on a rapido 200 race barrel, series 2 TV air box, and raised air scoop 15mm to let more air in, but couldnt jet it rich enough with a 110 main, 55 pilot 266, needle jet and d22 needle. far too weak only ran on choke, gave up trying and put a 28 PHBL on, which ran well enough. You would need about 110 and 55-60 pilot with that air box intrnals removed, Im no expert on these carbs having only set up about a dozen or so. im sure somone will be along soon...........

97 jet is too weak Mike. As Jims says 110 is more like it. What needle and atomiser are you running?

Hi Al, I have the standard GT jetting, D22 needle and AQ266 atomisor. Is the pipe making the difference from the norm here? What size pilot should I use?
Are the main jets the same as an SH1/20?

Do you mean from the website? I've found that too weak. Last one I set up had a JL3 and needed a 110 with a remote filter. I expect you'll need anything from 102 upwards. Needle and atomiser are right. I would have thought the pilot would be ok at 50 but try a 60 which is often what that carb comes with. Its usually too rich on normal cast iron cylinders.
The jets are a bigger thread size than the sh carbs and are the same as the 28 and 30mm dellortos.
When your jetting in try it with and without the airbox to see what effect its having. I know a lot don't like to do it and I understand why but I often drill the airbox for more airflow.

i am running a very similar set up to Mike with a GT 206 drilled/modified box. started out on 97main eek, then running a 108 for 1000 miles. this week wanted to up jet till it bogged down then work backwards.put in a 115 thinking it would do it.wrong. must have been very lean indeed

Hello
I am running GT 206 with 25 dellorto and JL3 but use same jetting with clubman except moved the clip up 2 for clubman.
Originally i used Aq266 with D24 atomiser and needle but had a siezure. After rebore i have run Aq 268 and D22 as recomende by Patch at Scooter Surgery and it runs very well.
I found with the JL3 it runs better on bottom clip as it wasnt too happy when coming off the throtle. Siezures can happen with shutting off the throtle as not enough oil is getting through.
I have stuck to a 102 main.

I think the seisures are happening because its too weak and getting hot not because not enough oil.

I fitted a 105 main which felt much better, but just to be sure I fitted a 108 which would start to splutter when the throttle is whacked on. Gonna leave the 108 in for now as it's okay for running in, then I'll drop down to the 105 once it's loosened up a bit.
