Serveta - battery bypass?

Hi all,

Just a thought (as it appears that the battery on my Serveta has died)......is there really any need to run a battery and can this be easily by-passed. My Rally 200 used to have a battery but no longer runs one so I'm guessing its doable but is it easy enough to sort?

On the Serveta it seems that the lights & indicators worked off the battery alone and it wasn't being recharged.

Cheers

Rob

Running without a battery will kill your stator & coil, both are hard to find for the motoplat ignition these days!

Simply fit a battery and all will work fine! ;-)

If it's a 6v system then its an easy conversion to 12v AC using a vespa reg (although it may struggle to power indicators as well as lights), but try your system with a good battery before you ditch the original reg/rec.
