Evening peeps, I have a question for the folk who also have this conversion and have an SH 1/20 fitted. Any idea on the jetting that I might need for this?

Regards,

Jaime

As a general rule of thumb Jaime I'd use something like the 125 Special or the GP125 as a guideline as regards to jetting having the same spec engine.

Still after a set up... Today I found out that my atomizer is a 5899-1!!!! Isn't the Vega one a 5899-6? Any idea what slide to use?

Regards,

Jaime

being the sad git I am I recorded this information from the LCGB site from some time ago. I think that its adam winstone talking about jetting his 125 vega. One day when I finish my own 125 conversion I know that this will be of use to me also. Hope this helps.

What I've run to IOW x 2, Kelso, Coventry x 2 is:

Vega atomiser (#6), Vega slide, 45 pilot, main ranging between 80 to 85 (80 all the way back from Kelso but gave a slightly weak plug reading... 85 makes it slightly less responsive lower down but gives a nice cruising colour).

On my way to Kelso I did Oxford to Leicester on:

#1 atomiser, #1 slide, 45 pilot and 90 main.

This was the best combination that I managed with the series III range of atomisers and slides but I was never really happy with it. I never nipped up or had issues but it just wasn't good enough for me to be totally happy with.

I tried a #4 atomiser and 90 slide but seemed to run weak, upping the main then just made it bog lower down without clearing and getting to higher revs.

#5 atomiser and 107 main (as alternative 125 Special 20mm jetting) was boggier than a boggy thing... and a complete waste of time. Changing down to a 95 main didn't really help either.

I tried a whole host of other combinations but they didn't even merrit recording in my book. Really, the only combinations worth trying are the #6 atomiser (still in use today) and the #1 atomiser combo. Just use these as ideas for further testing and remember that your exhaust will affect things considerably.

I hope that this is of some use and good luck with your motor.
