Hello everyone. Just bought myself a 1964 Eibar Lambretta LI150 S2 Winter Model. A bit of a one this, but putting the headset together the upper part which houses the speedo doesn't fit the bottom. It's like trying to get two convex shapes to fit together, you screw one side down and get a see-saw effect. Definitely a bad fit. The Winter Model has the SX headset. Has anyone ever heard of a bad fit like this before? Were there variations in SX headset uppers? Perhaps the handlebars got bent previously in an accident.

Advice gratefully received, and I may be on the lookout in the very near future for a new headset piece. If the handlebars were bent, I suppose I'll be up for an expensive one.

The winter model headset is diferent to a SX one. Are you trying to put an SX top headset into a Winter bottom?

Although the winter model headset looks like an sx headset the tops and bottoms are not interchangeable.

Pics would help (as we would then know you are trying to fit the right headset top). Without knowing that any advice is wasted.

Not only Spanish headsets don't fit. Italian headsets also have bad fits as well. My series 1 headset goes up on one side if I screw on the other.

Heres a few pics of how your headset should look, its a combination of Series 2 and SX types.
(Series 2 at the back with an SX style headlight and rim, Series 3 style speedo, LI Series 3 style Lightswitch).

If you Headset Top and Bottom dont look like the ones on the Photo, they wont fit together.
