rear hub woes..

I had a new SIL hub, but no idea where the cone was, so used the old one.

When I fit the hub, I reckon the drive shaft as about 1mm lower than the hub. I cannot tighten any more. Is it enough?

No cone, the drive shaft comes out further than the hub.

I'm a little paranoid about this, as the hub change came from the previous one coming off while riding.

This is on a GP200 engine.

I've just fitted a used Italian hub and cone to a used Indian layshaft and also found the same, the splines were only about 1mm lower than the hub face. I think that so long as it doesn't pull through before it reaches thre 120lbs torque, it should be ok.

Mine had only done about 160 miles so far but seems ok. If you're unsure you could always undo the nut and see if there is still some clearance?

You could always fit another or thicker shim under the cone thus moving the hub out a tad.
