Is there any way a large bolt could be used as a spindle in a Lambretta drum hub instead of the usual affair with nuts either side?

I wouldn't have thought so as the backplate will knock back and forth on the link peg possibly breaking the boss off.I have the PM tuning twin disc that has a bolt for the axle and quite honestly it is a pain in the arse to get everything back in the links and then tighten up.When I have time I'll try and find a longer axle and go back to the standard arrangement.

I'm not using the link peg, using antidive but you just reminded me, I used to have the PM single disc antidive
