OK guys, bit of an annoying problem with my GP200.
Fires up on kick starting but then simply cuts out. Won't tick over. Dies as soon as I hit the throttle.
Stator, CDI.....??????

All replies welcome.

I'm sat her typing this, looking at three scoots parked on the drive, and none of the buggers run properly!!!! :( :( :(

indian stator plate? had the same problem last season, the charging coil (i hope thats the correct word for it) was broken. but you could use the one of a vespa px with a small modification to the stator plate.

If it fires when you kick it but wont run, is the spark plug dry or is it soaking wet with petroil mix and is there a heavy smell of petrol from the exhaust when it fires up and then cuts out, cus its either carb or Ignition, Indian stators are usually suspect, but dirt in the fuel can cause many different faults, and if its a Jettex they have been known to be faulty from new...

Cheers fellas.

Scoot ran trouble-free for 2,000 miles. Carb has only recently been stripped and rebuilt.
Yep, Indian stator plate - I reckon that's where my problem lies....

I'd try another CDI that's known to be good before touching the stator.

Also, possibly an air leak causing it to run weak and cut out as soon as throttle opened.
