Ok, rewired connections and looked at just about everything inc changing rear light to led, new brake sensor.

Narrowed it down i think to the wiring of the grey - on a wiring diag in stickys p224 its the one i need (i think) its on its own, what can i put with it to make live - from scootrs ignition/wiring from scoot.

Note on the cr*p line drawing L = from scooter i = scootrs ignition

Drew, can't you just take another wire from the same connection that goes to the front brake, take it to the rear brake light switch on the frame strut and from the other connection on the rear brake light switch to the rear brake light itself. That should be it. Your terminations are a lot better than before:)

I could and will if there is no other solution as its taking time now. i was just assuming there would be a wire i misplaced in the wrong connector at the front - therefore just moving a wire next to the grey being quicker.

Drew, the feed for the brake lights should come straight off the live from the stator, I don"nt think it goes through the ignition switch

Hi Drew, I have a GP150,battery, scootrs switch, I have grey from the loom connected to the red/white from the switch.

Thats, looks like thats what was supposed to happen but tried that and it doesnt work. going to just take it via the brake switch

the one i have has two reds at the switch, which then go to the rear, the front brake two browns (one ignition, one loom, and one i adapted to go from hydraulic brake switch to the brown in headset.

there is a grey, the only one i havent tried which looks to be doing little is a green. The scooter has a junction box with 3 greens, a yellow from the CDI, a purple (which goes with the browns at the headset), a red in the middle, a grey or could be mauve. and i think a blue.

possibly the one that kills the CDI to earth when you turn it off. this will give you a good belt if you touch it with the engine running...

apart from the greens, all those wires should possibly be connected together, there is no need for so many. but find out where they go and what they do...

this is a simplified diagram of course, it needn't be exactly like this to work. it may be that you haven't got a double wire going to the rear switch...? you don't necessarily need to
as long as power is getting to one side of each switch, and the other side is connected to the rear lamp, then all should be well
