how do i use cable adjusters

for years of fiddling with allen keys and pliers, thought i'd buy myself some adjusters but i just cant see how these work on the gear cable tightening on the adjuster block?

Anyone?

im scratchin my head as well if you mean the trunnions with the allen key in take the grub screw out and replace it with a 6mm bolt about 15mm long as to the rest of your question i dunno

Sounds like Druist has got one of the tools that helps in tightening the cables. I think it's supposed to act as a third hand. They're on ebay all the time. Never used one myself.

Yep, that's the kiddie, though I can't quite see what it does more than a pair of mole grips would do.

They're quite handy on the clutch and outer gear cable but the inner gear cable is a bit awkward.
Druist, they go on the rearward side of the trunnion to tension the cable from that side to ideally have it hold the tension so that you have two hands free for a spanner and Allen key to tighten the trunnion.

thats the ones guys, got bought em for xmas, all they seemed to do was knock off my cable ends i had put on. That link is great Bryon, cheers. I can see how the inner gear can be done. Thanks Soulsurfer. Nice to see some of former LCGB writers on here :)
