Tm identification

please could someone clarify that this is a tm27
its got from what i can see etched on the front of the carb- p8010
venturi inlet 50mm
spigot outlet 36mm
is this carb an older model as tm carbs are a newer design with the front carb body being able to split away

Sorry mate I do not recognise that carb, But the tm type of carbs go back at least 23 years (with the split body).
My bike is fitted with tm28ss carbs and my opinion is that they are nasty carbs, their only good point is that they are light weight.
given a choice I would go for amal 1st , then dellorto 2nd

i've seen a thread on lcgb site, which basically states its a tm27- 8006 carb
its the early tmx style carb, no split body like other tm carbs
it has the flat slide with the d shape to it.

Never saw this one but looks the same as my TMX27 but the power jet feed is missing so check that it's blanked off inside the float bowl. I broke the feed to the P/J on mine too so I made a blanking jet out of a bolt (from memory pretty sure it was M4), just cut a small length of the thread and cut a straight slot in for a screwdriver, then thread locked it in place.

TMX27 isn't an old carb I think it was introduced after the 30, 32 & 35.
It was great on my Imola until I holed the piston but I suspect that the damage to the P/J feed was instrumental in that.
