But not everyone has got old stator's or the know how to get this done. If someone was to make the back plates or even if west counrty windings could provide a complete stator, instead of buying the latest must have, just because its got a name to it,i think it would sell well. There a market there for someone?

Oh I see what you mean ;-) Maybe that would make the price prohibitive, I dunno.
I thought it might be a good idea to pick up a load of knackered cheap stators from a parts fair and get them rewound.

UPDATE:
When I fitted my stator I had a bobbin running on the flywheel magnets (second left of pickup), I trimmed the plastic and then the pickup was rubbing, this wouldn't move by slackening the screw.
I called them to explain and they said to send it back, I asked who was going to pay the postage as it wasn't my fault and I met resistance :? and was told they kept my old pickup and that rubbed too, but as long as it wasn't over-priced it would be okay. After I came off the phone, I realised they couldn't have my original oickuo as I never sent it to them
£5.41 to send the stator, they returned it with the pickup moved, but a bit pissed, not sure if it fits okay yet, but no postage refund. I sent email, no reply, sent another, no reply. I'll now call tomorrow.

Regarding the pickup, they are Indian, we were told Italian would be fitted. They say VE sent them and they were sorting this out with them, and when they do, they will send out Italian pickups to the people that have had this conversion.... for what, I think, to fit myself??

Suffice to say, not happy :( We'll see what happens.

As they, originally, said they are supplying the pick up at cost, do VE actually manage to sell Indian pick ups (trade) for over £35?

They returned mine with a refund and the Indian pickup removed, they wouldn't even fit the BGM pickup I supplied. It would seem that due to being let down by their supplier of pickups, they are no longer offering this service, which is a real disappointment as they probably could have got hold of BGM pickups to use and not had a problem, strange really as they had real promise :?
I have fitted the BGM pickup myself but yet to test the stator in a running engine.

Are they still offering to do the winding Mark?
