"Not sure if the crank taper is the same but without pulling my motor apart I would think so."... think so means not 100% sure. I too would think so but I'd want to confirm it before buying anything. If you ask Dean at Rimini, he might even be good enough to confirm either way (yes or no)?
I'd think yes but you could find that the Lui has a different crank taper, which would stop the idea there

Ahh... Late J range and Vega.
Now, I know that there are 2 types of crank because I bought the newer type but had to change my Mag house because the first type that I had used another type of bearing and doesn`t have a shoulder for the bearing like the new one.
But I presumed the taper was the same. i can also ask Scooter restorations about compatibility. Both Rimini and SR are slow at answering emails...

Ok this is the deal.
The Sunny flywheel will fit.
The Stator however, is still a 6v points system but with a 12v headlight lighting coil.
Is is still worth a try?
The flywheel and stator cost £95
The only available full 12v electric system at the moment is the luitronic/variotronic and that costs 350 euro.

I would consider it, unless you want to change to electronic ignition. As far as the 12V goes, the 12V feed may well be sufficient to give you enough power to run brake light and/or horn too, especially if you introduce a Vespa type 12V regulator and LED rear light bulb.
At the end of the day, it really depends on what you want from it and how much you're willing to spend.

Ok, Thanks Adam.
I recon its worth a punt so orded it. The Luna will be used for local rides to the shops around my village and with the moped club so if it works I`ll be happy.
When Rimini/casa put the 75 clubman pipe in production I want to fit a bigger 19mm carb and maybe next year if it all runs good enough I might strip it again and get it painted and add a full 12v system along with front dampers.
Funds are a little low right now because my Series 2 is at the painters.
I am trying to find a wiring diagram for a Vega without any luck. I have found a lui, but that one doesnt have a junction box.

There was a Vega wiring diagram in one edition of the home workshop manual so it should be pretty easy to find.... ?
I didn't find one quickly but I did chance on this for inspiration...
