Absolutely invaluable (particularly for the novice).

adjusted the cable but the lack of power is still there.... IS the clutch compressor that i can't find... Any tips?

Remove the clutch and check it over first, order stickys book at the same time fella, it will give you step by step instructions and handy tips, first check springs (when removed) for weak tension (crap will feel easy to compress/ if its difficult to close the ends together between fingers should be good to go) plates should be soaked in oil if dry thats ye problem, if this is the case soak overnight in gearbox oil (same as in the engine)
Worst case scenario would be a full clutch kit from scooter restorations (standard gp will surfice)

+2 but it will be easier for him to find if we give it it's official tittle, The Lambretta Complete Spanners Guide. If the clutch checks out, it is also possible that the front cush drive is slipping. Not had this myself (I don't think) but it has been mentioned a lot recently and apparently has similar symptoms. It is actually a LOT easier to check and fix that the clutch so might be worth a look while you have the side casing off before attacking the clutch.

Hi thanks for the tips, the problem is that i wouldnt like to order the book from one site, the plates from another and the compressor from a third place... ..Sip is great cause they have almost everything and with the fast delivery option you get evrything you need in 2-3 days but they are mostly specialised in Vespas Ordering from UK takes time... and the pound/euro change doesn help..Sticky's book for example costs 20pounds and the shipping bills are 22pounds..more than the book itself! I have to find a shop where i can find everything and make only one order...

what do you mean by cush drive slipping? What should i check exactly? thanks

I resume this post since i stripped my bike completely and now, after replacing carb, tank, toolbox, and many other parts that im not listing here, i am taking care of the electrics. I replaced the whole cable mess that i found on my bike, which was assembled without any logic and that caused me many problems during the summer...
I started with the wiring loom; i purchased a simplified version from bgm. I am following the diagrams taken from sticky's book (aka the bible) that has helped me a lot during all this time. I am keeping the light switch and the ignition switch that were fitted on the bike cause maybe i can still use them if i manage to match the colours correctly.

From right to left:

1) In the green slot of the headset i put the green exit from the wiring loom and the green from the ignition.
2) In the yellow slot (that on the diagram that i'm following is orange instead) i put the orange from the ignition and the pink from the light switch.
3) Following the diagram in the purple slot there should be the purple coming from the ignition and the grey coming from the loom (or brake pedal ) . But my ignition has no purple (has blue instead!) and my loom has only 3 exit: black, green and brown. Brown goes to the regulator, green to the green slot in the headset junction and black i suppose goes to earth (in the black slot on the extreme right of the junction). That's where i put it.
4) In the brown slot there's brown coming from the loom and brown comin from the ignition that is splitted in 2 parts, the second part should be going to the horn but it's too short as you can see from the picture 2 (in the pic 2 you see also the blue coming from the ignition that maybe replaces the purple?). In the pic 4 you see all the wires coming from the ignition, on pic 1 you see the diagram and on the 3rd a close up of the slots.

Can anyone help me throu all this?? IS there a chance to match the colours correctly?

Your loom has 3 wires at the headset, these are brown(lighting power), green (ignition) and black( power feed to rear light) Connect the loom brown to key switch brown and the key switch blue.Key switch Yellow to yellow terminal gives sidelight bulb power. Key switch black to loom black and speedo black. Key switch orange to handlebar switch yellow or orange(or pink in your case?) Key switch pink to headset earth. Separate earth wire from bulb holder (other end of sidelight bulb yellow) Run extra wire down to horn from bulb holder browns. If none of this works the key switch may be faulty.

Hi wack, thanks for the reply..i have to say that i'm a bit confused though... could you please tell me looking at the headset junction, slot by slot, what goes where?
