I see it has a PVL ignition, so I would have thought lighting coils should be available. I can't find a price for a complete engine, but going by the spare parts prices its not going to be cheap.

Got the new engine in today, its not quite the same, I needed to grind a little off here and there. The carb is in a slightly different place and height aswell. This has given me a small ball ache as it is very close to the under side of the tank. A 90' cable entry should do it, but the carb now sits at a strange sideways angle. The old carb rubber only has 4 bolts and the new one has 6, so I will have to make an ally one with normal carb rubber.

The frame loop IS very close to the power valve governor. But the engine is a solid mount as is the frame, so nothing goes up or down to rub. But if it does, back out with the grinder. As for an engine choice... I did do a little homework. I knew I wanted a 500cc so choice was not huge. So I went to see a guy I used to work with that had done a lot of beach racing etc. He recommended the KX because the power valve is mechanically driven where all the other 500cc engines are servo driven. With this comes its own problems.
