Exactly! That's what happens in fourth gear at full throttle!... it does the same thing also when i shift from second to third and from third to fourth.. looks like the engine "can't take" the high revs or or can't keep revving highly... i would say there's a lack of torque, it revs but it never reaches the torque..but tell me your opinion... since im not an expert in piston ported Lambrettas letting alone Mugellos...i'm all ears!Andy Pickering wrote:Do you mean the engine revs highly with very little thrust forward ?

My moneys on clutch, easiest check first, is the cable adjusted to tight ! Back it off a little at a time (making sure you have enough clutch to safely ride) if this makes no difference then its the chain case off im afraid..who knows what could be hidden in there !! Cheap or ill fitted springs/ dry plates (would need an overnight soak in gearbox oil) keep your chin up youll get there...id personally tear the full bike to bits and check the lot mate for your own piece of mind.

OK let's assume is the clutch, do you think that a clutch might break in such a short time and with such a short mileage? ive had probably ridden less than 20km since i got the lambretta...or probably it was fitted already faulty? Anyway to chenge the clutch what i need to do? IS it easy like on Vespas, can i buy a ready assembled plug and play clutch? and if so, which one would you recommend? Let me know

Its it fitted incorrectly it will never bed in, straight forward to change but you might well find a strip and rebuild correctly might just sort it, check the cable first and if that doesnt work get inside, remove bridge/rear runner/ exhaust box/drain oil/remove all sidecase fixings...you will need a clutch compresser for removal in fact invest in a sticky book if you can, they are massive help.

Check the cable first, it might save you some money oily hands and scrapped knuckles ! You would only need standard clutch...but like I say if its not the cable then the chances are corners have been probably cut whilst fitting it..personally id be doing my fu cking nut with the supplier as its clearly poorly constructed from the out set with a shiny paint job !! (We did preempt this would be the case) just dont throw anymore money at it until its thoroughly checked out and assembled correctly, it might just save your life my friend.

He doesn't mean that the cable is faulty, just adjusted up too tight. The cable outer adjustment is on the top of the engine case near the oil filler. Slacken the 11mm lock nut and screw in the adjuster with a 10mm spanner (this is sometimes a bit fiddly. There should be a little bit of play at the lever but not too much.Noplastic wrote:....im sure the cable is fine..
