I wasn't necessarily suggesting that, as the alloy kits do offer more scope, but I do think that people are often too quick to overlook iron barrels.

Main jet wise...........could be a bit lean but its hard to tell without riding the scoot. Cam lam recommend starting with a 110 main and av268 on a 26mm with expansion so its not a million miles out but who knows.
I still think the fuel flow and a 200 inlet valve while getting closer to reserve will be the main culprit.
Hope you get it sorted!

Yep! Back to cast. You just don't have the feel with an alloy barrel.
I agree in that chances are it may have seized before holing the piston but a bad seize will screw the piston anyway.
As you can probably tell, i like my barrels made of the softer grey/silver matter :D

£100 from camlam, or the MB tour piston, but that's £145

money I don't have at the moment, just have to try and work out finances, hopefully get it back together and sell as a runner, rather do that than break it up or sell as project, less lost money :(

i have disscussed your problem with a friend who i highly respect his views ,he is a suzuki trained bike mecanic but he told me that his rc nitro fueled car if it runs out of fule will litteraly f@@k the 15cc motor in a matter of seconds .. i realy think as sticky says that simply going onto resurve was enough to hole you piston ... as i said before .. take a break ,have a think and when the time is right try again

Same thing happened to my mates mugello travelling to scarbourgh at Easter. Left home and 65 miles later went onto reserve. Within a mile or two he here's a pop and coasted to the side of the road. Big hole in the centre of the piston. Defo going into reserve caused it
