Sending out s**t parts isn't a mistake. Knocking a salt pot over is a mistake, or treading on chewing gum. What if Donnie's part was what's stopping his bike from being on the road, and his livelihood is on hold while the dealer's mistake is sat and thought about for a couple of days?

I've no idea of Donnie's personal circumstances, but his bike could very easily be his only form of transport to get to work and back. Waiting a bit for someone to fix a fuckup (or not fix a fuckup) isn't always an option.

If the business purchases stock parts from India which are used on a daily basis by Indians to repair scooters does that make them sh1t?

Maybe the Ebay company simple trades and doesn't repair, so how would they know anything.

Have we actually determined technically/empirically that the parts are not fit for purpose?

Does the shim have to be exactly 1mm ? I'd have thought the cone stops the hub going fully back and I can't really think of the purpose of the shim

Yes we have! My god man you're making excuses a plenty for shite dealers that don't know what they are even selling!

1mm is the standard thickness though I know they can range slightly due to manufacturing ie 0.9-1.0 ish mm, certainly not down to 0.2mm.

The purpose of the shim I believe is as a spacer to shim away the cone from the inner race and edge of the seal to ensure no contact.

Also, you cant rely solely on the cone as age and wear can result in the cone bottoming out into the hub itself, ie if you put the cone into the hub you need to ensure it's not almost flush, this can happen over time. The cone's essentially acting like a spring washer and is constantly under 140-150 ft lbs of pressure.

You sure its not your ebay calipers that are out .8mm?

I didn't get my calipers from ebay, again you try and poke fun and end up only contradicting yourself. On the one hand you're defending the seller for selling shite, yet you imply any calipers bought from ebay are defective.

Also, the fact they emailed you within 24 hours of your message has no bearing yet again on this thread as it's nothing to do with how long they took nor even if they actually bothered, think thats 4 times thats been pointed out to you.

But you crack on trying to make your points, you must know what they are 'cos Im sure that I don't as you keep going round in circles.
