BGM stator problems

Thanks a lot, i'll try to push the clip harder to make it clip over the lip on the inside of the panel, i was afraid to break it by pushing it since there's some distance between the clip and the lip... I found mine attached to the housing without gasket and without rubber grommet. Where does the grommet go, in between the plates? Yes that's the buffers in question.

The spring clips should be quite tight as the need to hold the panel in place. Nothing worse than that sickening clatter as your panel goes flying off and hoping there's nothing behind you.

The grommet goes between the two plates when you screw it down it compresses and stops water getting in the stator.

Yes it does (inbetween) and yes I would fit a gasket and a touch of clear silicon around the top of grommet to completely elimate any chance of water ingress, it will compress down, and yes the clip should have resistance when pulled up as this is what secures the panel from that position and (in theory) stops it popping up and the panel bouncing off.

"sickening clatter"..i couldn't find any better words to define that... Ok so i'll have to find 2 screws that fits the holes in the plates but long enough to compress the grommet... i have the grommet but i dont have the gasket i could put some red paste underneath or build myself one. Another thing: where do this go exactly? http://www.scooterrestorations.com/lamb ... -set-of-4/ and how many and what type of screws do i need to attach the flywheel cover to the cylinder head cowl? Sorry for the many questions but i'm trying to "rebuild" my SIL GP from all the missing or wrong parts they fitted her with.

The flywheel cowling ones are M6 thread and are available from most dealers or in stainless from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAMBRETTA-GP- ... _630wt_868.

Be aware that the plate on top where the stator wires go through is not symmetrical, you will never get the second screw in if it's the wrong way round.

i took another road test today: the bike pulls very well now at the bottom , it revs out pretty fast in 1st and 2nd gear but on the open road especially in fourth gear if i go full throttle the scooter "screams" and stops revving instead of pushing more and "taking off" up to 60-65mph... what could it be? Sounds like main jet... i run a 122, could it be too lean for a 225?

Do you mean the engine revs highly with very little thrust forward ?
