I have had quite a few people suggest I add "patina" to the seat and the paint on the panels but my biggest struggle with that is it's not genuine and makes me feel a fraud. It'll come naturally, I ride to work everyday so father time and mother UV rays will take care of that in a jiffy.

I like knockarounds myself, no need to get all bent out of shape worrying and not riding. Plus if I want to hit the occasional dirt trail, I'm not going to really sweat it. Especially with this one, 90% of the bodywork, including the frame, were considered fit for the bin by their previous owners so in my mind, I've given these parts a new lease on life.

All the mechanicals are a different story, I like everything to work perfectly so the majority of expense is under the hood.

Now that is my kind of ride. Nice Spaniard you've got right there. What size weatherman's are you running in that picture, they look about spot on to what I'm after.

Well I've been running El Toro all over this year and it hasn't skipped a beat. I ride it to work everyday and took it to Colorado Springs for this years LCUSA Lambretta Jamboree and won best rat. I also had an interview in the latest Specialist LCUSA club magazine with a picture of El Toro and myself. It's been an absolutely great machine and not buzzy whatsoever.

The Deanspeed ported 190cc jug is running an indian 64.2mm piston with PHBH 28 carb and ramair filter. It's all driving a 16x46 combo with an LI125 gearbox and a Taffy-style pipe, which makes for great fun and loads of torque in town.

Definitely not a touring machine, but never intended it to be (although I do think going to a 17x46 would certainly make it more of a touring mount) I wanted it to run and look like a hill climber, which I think it pretty much does.

I'm located in sunny Mankato, it's about 70 miles south of Minneapolis.

Man that's a pretty much bang in the middle of both coasts, much scootering up there? done a bit of the west coast, but not the middle or east.

Yep, there's maybe 10 active guys in the whole state and a few others currently less active. Definitely not the center of the scootering universe, or even close for that matter.

Riding is pretty flat and straight compared to a lot of the country but we do have a good share of woods. In fact we were just out in some some this last week:
