mark wrote:did a few mods to clutch today and after 7 hours of working on it i have a clutch that you can pull in with an easy two fingers,it is a bit more sensitive to adjust but nothing to worry about.
i have tested it on the local bypass under hard acceleration in 3rd from 50 mph to 73 mph and it was still pulling strong with no sign of slip also hard acceleration round town in 1st and 2nd gave no sign of slip and i held it in 4th for 3 miles at 70mph and giving it some hard acceleration up to 83 and backing off repeatedly to try to get clutch slip but couldnt get any :P
thanks mark , just for the new people viewing this is being trialed in marks dac motor (35bhp+) , there has been a lot of midnight oil burnt by both mark and myself but hopefully we now are on the right track to finally cracking the clutch trouble encountered by most people , its early yet but the signs are positive with the idea that if we can do a clutch that the dac boys can get get to work the the rest of us need not worry again !!!! :D

really looking forward to this being on sale, I need one now and as my Diablo tank (Ta Diablo) will be ready soon (SIP digi speedo also on order but I'm not holding my breath!) I want the clutch asap, so I can get it all fitted before Ireland!
Many thanks to all involved as this sounds better than anything else out there!

when you first posted this thread i thought "thats a bloody good idea" so i unashamedly copied your design with a e-bay used Aprilla item and re-worked the lammy rear sprocket , the first one i did was for the sprinter but it slipped with the 6 plates so i re-vamped it and with 7 plates it worked a treat, so i did another for me road going GP and got 5 aprilla plates in with no packing plate on the chain case, been to scabby n back and skeggy n back with no slip at all, you deserve a knight hood for your industry young man,, go straight to dragons den,,

judging by the price rise on e-bay for a used clutch i assume others are going down the same route as me!!!

Would these be compatible to use in the Saigon Motorbike clutch too?

Do you still run SAE90 gear oil with this set up or has anything else lighter been trialled?

Cheers Stu
