I think I will have a go at this as well. The same type of "feeling" happend to me when I fitted a bellmouth to an Amal I was running on a 125cc Prim smallframe. It went so much better, pulled away like a train. But it didn't go any faster, just felt like it.

About 2 or 3 years back there was a company who came out with carbon clutch plates, silicone HT leads etc, etc. Cannot remember the name although they were featured in an issue of Scootering. There was some interest at the time but they've long faded away. Just out of interest would a Silicone HT lead help improve things over standard copper leads...or was it all just a hyped fad?

I dont know much about electrics but like fiddling with things, what would happen if you combined am Augusto unit with a Spark magnifier (cdi/diode/capacitor type) and a Hot wire HT lead??? does the magnifier cancel oput the Hot Wire HT lead , vice vesra or do you get even better spark at even better timing?

just replaced my silicon HT lead cos it doesn't last very long (seems to break down quickly inside outer),6 months, for good quality copper cored cable.

done about 600 miles on my series 1 with no problems.
Does it work? It starts first kick virtually every time, seems smoother low down but hard to say. The bike always was a good starter, as is my imola, I have made 2 more sets up for some guys at the club to try but am looking for the bugger who can never get his scoot going and at the moment they are all doing OK.
I think at the end of the day a fatter spark with limited kick over speed is what is helping, once the scoot is running or at speed the benefits get lower.
Anyone else still using one?
