I sent mine yesterday, they called today to tell me it'll be done tomorrow and back to me for Thursday/Friday, total cost £106.95 inc.P&P.

Worth noting is that they supply the new Italian pickup at cost in this job, these would cost over £35 if bought on it's own. They also said that this spec is possible with AC, in fact, if you're prepared to work with them, they'll try anything. Now that is service :wink:

I did ask if they'd be able to source a one piece flywheel i.e. not a bolted/welded boss, they said they'll have a look :D

Didn't mention weight, it was only something that occurred to me in a split second :?

sterling effort on this topic guys, 21st century electrics is here, i have just fitted an led festoon and an led speedo bulb , less than £1.50 each inc. delivery from hong kong, saved between 7-8 watts output and brighter than bright could power petrol guage with this wattage saving...

Why have they removed the rivets from the laminates to the back plate and fitted bolts, is this the only way they can do the rewiring of the bobbins (because the back plate gets in the way).?

Am I seeing the stator correctly on my screen ... It looks like its been rewound with five rows of windings on the larger coils then seven rows of windings on the smaller coils, the gauge of wire looks to be possibly 1mm or maybe 1.1mm ECW with 75 to 80 windings made to each lighting bobbin, these then all wound in series. A yellow wire looks to have been taken from each end of the series connections..?

With the original earths for the pick-up & LT coil now made through crimp terminals earthed at the pick-up retaining screw.? ( The new earthing point is probably much more reliable than the normally loose SIL earth tags)

Would be good to see a voltage drop test done with this type of conversion to help eliminate resistance readings and give a direct comparison to other conversions...

This is still one of the best thought out electrical topics to date IMO. 8-)

The windings are taken of the backplate to be rewound.
There is a yellow wire from each end of the lighting coils to give dc.
The lt coil is rewound to give roughly double the spark.
All earths are bolted.
Voltage drop??????? Please explain :oops:

Soulsurfer have you fittd it yet?

Can somebody suggest to this co. that they make a complete stator, they would make a fortune, imagine a 140w stator!

measuring volts across the circuit, and hoping there aren't many at all ?
so the path of least resistance is still through the circuit ?
