I bet mine doesn't end up as neat but it should work - I've got an RD350 barrel as well but the reed is massive and will be difficult to accomodate and keep up intake velocity.
I'm going to try and use the KX inlet rubber and a 28mm carb - I've got to pay for the welding but if I count my time as free it'll work out around £45 and that's with brand new Boyeson reeds.
It's amazing how cheap stuff is if it doesn't have Lambretta in the item description. ;)

Sorry to go off subject a little, but with regards to ali welding has anybody used these rods before:

They look like a fantastic bit of kit especially used in the above type application, dirt cheap also.
Best Regards

Coming my way soon should be my new engine from JB which will feature a 25mm LTH reed block.

Its based on my knackered mugello which is being bored to 71mm, tuned and ported to suit the reed and then coupled to a 61mm crank and variable ignition timing.

I don't suppose it'll be ready before New Year and then it'll be too cold to test properly but the hope is that it will be a real mile muncher with good low down and mid-range power. The small carb should keep the fuel bills vaguely sensible too.

The reed blocks themselves look pretty well made but aren't cheap. Mind you, since the whole engine build is costing the price of a kidney it seemed a shame not to go the whole hog.

Can anyone tell me if the plastic spacer is meant to be used? It looks to me that it is meant for the Minarelli reed fitment. All it does is move the block away from the inlet port. Also I think I read on the Lambretta -teile website to use the white petals?. Cheers

Here's a mugello 225 that we've converted for ArmandTanzarian, 61 stroke, 71mm bore (242cc), awaiting to be replated.

Which would be better, one large port(TS1 style) or two smaller ports? or does this depend on ring peg gaps?

That all looks the business but there appears to be a large, threaded hole in the side of the barrell in the middle of the inlet port!

That`s a well worked barrel, the stud hole will not be a problem once the stud has been fitted and then ground from within the port.

NICE WORK, hope it goes as fast as it looks
