I'd be tempted to simply buy a replacement TV crank and rebuild it back to standard as the weak taper of the TV crank does not seem to become a problem until you increase cc or performance considerably. If you fit a lighter than standard flywheel, this will also have a dramatic influence and reduce any chance of the crank's taper shearing off.

It will never been seen and no one is going to take a flywheel off to check it.
